Alice Taulman M-E-133-7

Alice Nancy Taulman, 84, of Edinburgh, Indiana, passed away on January 13, 2026, at Greentree in Columbus. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Larry Taulman. Alice is survived by her son, Dr. Scott Taulman and his wife, Sheila, of Columbus; her granddaughter, Dr. Brooklyn Taulman Parsons and her husband, Alex Parsons, of Indianapolis; and her faithful canine companion, Willow, a Shih Tzu. Born on September 24, 1941, in Brooklyn, New York, Alice was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Wadia Cook. She graduated from Prospect High School in Brooklyn in 1959 and went on to attend Franklin College, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in 1963. While at Franklin College, she met Larry Taulman, and the two were married on June 10, 1961. Alice continued her education at Indiana University, earning a Master of Science in Guidance and Counseling as well as an Education Specialist degree. A lifelong advocate for education, Alice devoted her career to ensuring that every child had the opportunity to learn and succeed. She taught mathematics in the Columbus and Edinburgh school systems before serving as guidance director at Edinburgh High School. Her commitment to education extended beyond the classroom, as she also served three elected terms on the Edinburgh School Board. Known for her warm personality and genuine interest in others, Alice never met a stranger. She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her and she leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and quiet service. In accordance with Alice’s wishes, no funeral service or calling hours will be held. Private interment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Edinburgh.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Funeral Care, Edinburgh.
