Edinburgh Police Department Extending Application Dates

The Edinburgh Police Department is currently seeking applicants for the future position of full time Police Officer. Applicants must be a US Citizen, at least 21 years of age or less than 40 years of age. Or you can be a veteran with 20 years of armed forces service with a maximum age of 40 years and 6 months at the time of appointment, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, possess a valid Indiana Driver’s License and have no felony or misdemeanor convictions. Lateral applicants are also encouraged to apply; further information can be provided if needed.

 Selected applicants for the Police Officer position must be able to pass a Physical Agility test, pass written testing, pass a background investigation and graduate from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. Laterals in good standing with ILEA encouraged to apply.

        Take Home Vehicle at conclusion of probationary period. Personal use of vehicles in surrounding counties.

        Uniform allowance of $1,100 per year

        Starting salary at $55,000 with raise after 1ST year. Salary of $60,000 after 1ST year plus Longevity pay.

        Up to date equipment such as, in-car radar, SUV patrol vehicles, outer carrier vest, Department issued red dot pistols, Department issued rifles, Ballistic Patrol Shields,
