William Glenn “Sam” Wiser, 64 of Franklin, Indiana passed away on March 3, 2026, at Indiana University Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. William was born March 18, 1961, in Franklin, Indiana and is the son of William “Pete” and Mary Helen (Dyer) Wiser. Sam married Phyllis (Simpson) Wiser on February 16, 1980, and she survives. Sam is survived by his wife; sons, Robert “Arty” (Ana) Wiser of Franklin, Indiana and Jarrod (Cherie) Wiser of Bargersville, Indiana; grandchildren, Chase Littlejohn, Derek Adair, Neta Wiser and Griffin William Wiser; Brothers, William “Billy” (Angel) Wiser of Edinburgh, Indiana, Howard “Head” Wiser of Bradfordsville, Kentucky, Robert Ray (Kathy) Wiser of Bradfordsville, Kentucky; sisters, Marilyn (Mark) Lawler of Greenwood, Indiana, Debbie Buck of Edinburgh, Indiana and Faye Carol (Garland) Cochran of Bradfordsville, Kentucky, Brenda Wiser of Bradfordsville, Kentucky, Linda Wiser of Bradfordsville, Kentucky and Betsy Wiser of Bradfordsville, Kentucky; his beloved brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, several nieces and nephews and his close friend, Craig Buck. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tamela Faye Wiser; brothers, William “Willy” Wiser, Jonnie Wiser and Rocky Wiser; sister, Debra Lynn Wiser. Sam graduated from Edinburgh Community High School in 1980. He attended Blue River Baptist Church in Edinburgh, Indiana. Sam enjoyed going to the movies, auctions, fishing and hunting. He was an avid antique collector, a Colts, Pacers and IU fan. Sam cherished his family, watching his grandchildren’s sporting events and spending time with his nieces and nephews. During this journey, our family became very aware of how many individuals face cancer while also struggling with the financial burden of treatment. In honor of Sam, we ask that those who feel compelled to send flowers instead consider making a donation to help those currently battling this disease.

Sam was also an avid fisherman and loved sharing that passion. One program that shares the same love of fishing with children is CAST, which hosts free, accessible fishing events for children with disabilities. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 6th, from 4:00–8:00 PM and again on Saturday, March 7th from 10:00 AM–1:00 PM. Funeral services conducted by Pastor Joel Butler will begin at 1:00 PM on Saturday. All services will be held at Who So Ever Will Community Church in Edinburgh, Indiana. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, Indiana.
