Margaret Evelyn Shumaker B-J-50-4

Margaret Evelyn Shumaker, who was much loved and cherished, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2013. She was born on March 23, 1914 in Edinburgh, IN, to the late Leonard J. and Ruby Foster Walker. Evelyn worked for Irwin Union Bank in Columbus, IN for 21 years. She was a 50 year member of the First Presbyterian Church in Columbus. Evelyn moved to Fort Wayne in 1997 and was a 15 year member of the First Presbyterian Church in Fort Wayne. Evelyn loved her family and friends and always had such a positive and gracious manner that will be remembered with joy. Surviving are her only son Jay E. (Sandy) Shumaker of Fort Wayne; granddaughters, Jane (David) Bowers of Fort Wayne, and Julie (Stephanie Weiler) Shumaker of San Francisco, CA; step-daughter-in-law, Rhonda Breman of Indianapolis; great grandchildren, Brittany Bowers of Indianapolis, Brian Bowers and Blake Bowers both of Fort Wayne; great granddaughter, Judith (Jude) Weiler Shumaker of San Francisco, CA; and step-great grandchildren, Elizabeth Breman, and Jackson Breman both of Indianapolis. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence "Bud" Shumaker, and step grandson, Matthew C. Breman. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m Monday, October 28, 2013 at Rest Haven Cemetery, Edinburgh, IN, where Evelyn will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Bud.
