David E. Allen B-M-35-3

David E. Allen, 90, of Edinburgh, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2011, at Homeview Center of Franklin. He was born in Liberty, Ky., and was a World War II veteran. He lived the past 37 years in Johnson County and retired from Amos Hill. Survivors include his wife, Lola E. (Burton) Allen; a son, Wendill (Peggy) Allen; a daughter, Judy (Brian) Prather; a daughter-in-law, Sara Allen; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Kermit Allen; and a grandson, Joseph Allen. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Who So Ever Will Community Church, 623 S. Eisenhower Drive, Edinburgh. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Alpha Funeral Service in Indianapolis is in charge of arrangements.
