Melinda Kay Emery, 33, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis, after a hard fight with heart problems. She was a resident of Franklin. She was born Jan. 28, 1978, in Columbus, to Jim and Cathy (Burton) Weathers. She married Justyne Emery on Aug. 3, 2007; and he lovingly survives. She is also survived by her son, Andrew Emery, who was the joy of her life. Other survivors include her parents; two siblings, Randy (Melissa) Weathers and Amy Weathers, both of Franklin; grandmothers, Elnora Burton of Edinburgh and Mary Weathers of Franklin; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Arnold Burton and John Weathers. Melinda graduated from Edinburgh Community High School in 1996. She was a member of Greenwood Christian Church. She worked for Lowe's in Franklin and Long Furniture in Amity. The Revs. Lewis Burton and Shan Rutherford will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday at Who So Ever Will Community Church, 623 Eisenhower Drive, Edinburgh. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
