T.A. Giles, 82, of Edinburgh, went to his heavenly home at 9 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Adair County, Kentucky, September 30, 1928, the son of Deroy and Betty Lou Streeval Giles. On September 3, 1947, he married Juanita N. Wycoff. She preceded him in death on June 9, 1983. He is lovingly survived by sons, Richard (Barbara) Giles of Ocala, Fla., and Larry A. (Charlotte) Giles of Edinburgh; a daughter, Kathy Hancock of Edinburgh; brothers, Paul Dale (Alma) Giles and Nick (Janice) Giles, both of Edinburgh; his best friend and companion, Helvetia Mudd of Nineveh; grandchildren, Shane (Anita) Hancock of Edinburgh, Kahla Giles of Indianapolis, Bryan Giles of Ocala, Fla., and Colby Giles of Panama City, Fla.; great-granddaughters, Callie Jo and Chloe Hancock, both of Edinburgh; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, R.J. and Lloyd (Chinky) Giles; and sisters, Mae Murray, Mary Watson and Irene Davis. He was a member of Jollity Methodist Church and the Edinburgh Lion's Club. He had worked for Ben Breeding and then started his own business, T.A. Giles Heating, Plumbing & Air Conditioning in September 1960. He retired in 1991. He was an avid fisherman, and loved spending time with his family and friend Helvetia. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Who So Ever Will Community Church with the Rev. Lewis Burton officiating. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
