Niles Marchant Gwinn B-E-4-3

U.S. VeteranNiles Marchant Gwinn died August 28, 2011. He was born September 3, 1923, in Indianapolis, Indiana. For sixty years, he was married to Carole Louise Gwinn (nee Barrett), who preceded him in death in 2007. He was the son of Marchant and Viola Gwinn. Niles was a World War II veteran. He served in the Mediterranean Army Air Corp in both Northern Africa and Italy. In civilian life he worked at Esterline Angus in Speedway, Indiana for over 40 years. Niles leaves behind three children: Niles Barrett Gwinn (married to Carla), Sandra Louise Jackson (married to Bill), and Melissa Kay Jarvis (married to Leroy). Niles also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Zachary Gwinn, Jennifer Gwinn, Nicholas Gwinn; Emily Jackson, Alex Jackson, Elliott Jackson, Alan Jackson; and Carolyn Jarvis. In addition he leaves behind two great grandchildren: Aiden Weaver and Brayden Weaver. He also leaves behind three living siblings: Jean E. White, Fort Wayne, Indiana; Gayle J. Shaneff, Coatesville, Indiana; and Barbara D. Mowery. Niles enjoyed his workshop, antique cars, forestry and wildlife. He was a carpenter, he enjoyed photography, and he was a marksman. He was also the family memory keeper. Niles and Carole were devoted parents who gave their children a great childhood. Thank you Mom and Dad, you both will be greatly missed by all of us. Graveside services were held at 11am Wed. Aug. 31 at the Rest Haven Cemetery, Edinburgh, IN. Arrangements entrusted to Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg.
