Lucy "Janey" Matney, 85, of Edinburgh, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011 at Homeview Health & Rehab­ilitation in Frank­lin. She was born Jan. 20, 1926, in Adair County, Ky., to the late Welby and Milda (Allen) Burton. She married Homer Matney on Sept. 9, 1950; he preceded her in death Jan. 5, 1992. She is survived by her son, Danny Lewis Matney of Versailles; a sister-in-law, Linnie Burton of Columbus; two nieces, Joan Barkes of Columbus and Cathy (Randy) Williams of Edinburgh; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Burton; a sister, Mary Huckaby; and a nephew, Lawrence Burton. She was a homemaker and enjoyed her family, gardening, flowers, antiques and collecting dolls. The Rev. Timothy Forsee will conduct a funeral service at 3 p.m. Thursday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, 302 E. Main Cross St., Edinburgh. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
