Eugene McGaha, 80, died Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland, Fla. He was a resident of Lakeland and a former resident of Nineveh. He was born Sept. 5, 1931, in Columbia, Ky., to Otis "Peck" McGaha and Lillie (Burton) McGaha; they preceded him in death. He married Ruby (Warren) McGaha on Feb. 20, 1953; she survives. He served in the Indiana National Guard and attended Edinburgh Separate Baptist Church. He retired from Arvin Industries in Franklin and was a former employee of David R. Webb Co. in Edinburgh. Other survivors include a son, Vernon "Bernie" (Gina) McGaha of Nineveh; two daughters, Karen (Richard) Million of Franklin and Leisa (Layman) Boyd of Nineveh; five grandchildren, Corey McGaha, Curtis McGaha, Derek Million, Whitney Million and Logan Boyd; a great-granddaughter, Vivee Rae McGaha; and three brothers, Edward "Spunk" McGaha of Edinburgh, Ondia (Pricie) McGaha of Columbus and Roy (Lulu) McGaha of Franklin. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Vernon, William and Osbert McGaha; and a sister, Eva Bryant. The Rev. Guy Hardin will conduct a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Edinburgh Separate Baptist Church, 905 S. Main St. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from noon until service time Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
