Floyd M. Pope, 72, of Columbus, died at 5:08 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Mr. Pope retired in 1979 from Amos Plastics in Edinburgh where he was a maintenance engineer. He was a former member of Ding-a-Lings Square Dance Club and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, going to flea markets and making grapevine wreaths. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh with the Rev. Lewis Burton officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Born in Bartholomew County April 11, 1938, Mr. Pope was the son of Herbert E. and Florence Wood Pope. He married Luretta Dinn April 22, 1956. Survivors include his wife; daughters, Marilyn (Patrick) Banks of Edinburgh, Luretta (Dale) Hodson of Otisco and Eva Coleman of Edinburgh; a brother, Dale (Dorothy) Pope of Mount Vernon; a sister, Helen Myers of Edinburgh; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Allen Dee and Tom Pope.
