Fern Louise Robertson B-J-104-4

Fern L. Robertson, 88, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at Johnson Mem­orial Hos­pital in Frank­­­lin. She was a resident of Frank­lin. She was born Sept. 28, 1922, to the late Samuel J. and Ida M. (Langley) Will­ard. She married Martin D. Robertson on Dec. 25, 1941; he preceded her in death on April 1, 1989. Survivors include her son, Kent (Barbara) Robertson of Franklin; two granddaughters, Janet Cordero and Angela Robertson; three great-grandchildren, Rachele and Nicholas Cordero and Patrick Hamilton; three stepgrandchildren, Julie (John) Elliott, Laura (Pat) McDonald and Jerry (Honey) Elliott; 13 great-stepgrandchildren; and four great-great-stepgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Gladys Harris; and five brothers, Virgal, Roy, Harley, John and Raymond Willard. Fern was a 1941 graduate of Edinburgh High School. While in school, she was a member of the Sunshine Club and Daughters of the American Revolution. She was the first girl to be elected president of her high school senior class. Fern was a member of Jollity United Methodist Church, where she was treasurer for many years. She retired from Edinburgh State Bank in June 1986 after 28 years of service. She previously worked for Russell Stotts Auto Parts and Waltz Grocery, both in Edinburgh, and Camp Atterbury Post Exchange. The Rev. Melvin Bucky Jordan will conduct a funeral service at 1 p.m. Saturday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, 302 E. Main Cross St., Edinburgh. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery, Edinburgh. Memorial contributions may be made to Jollity United Methodist Church, in care of Marcia Sweet, 8990 W. County Road 650S, Edinburgh, IN 46124.
