Doris J. Rooks, 76, of Edinburgh, died at 5:25 a.m. Sunday, April 24, 2011 at her home. Mrs. Rooks retired from Alma Plastics in Edinburgh after 28 years of service. She enjoyed her family and making flower arrangements. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Who So Ever Will Community Church with the Rev. Lewis Burton officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery. Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Rooks was born Sept. 23, 1934 in Russell Springs, KY, the daughter of Kotz Buford and Verna Shear Grider. She married Rollin L. Rooks, July 3, 1958. Survivors include her husband, Rollin L. Rooks; sons, Ronnie "Poochie" Toler, Ronald (Barbara) Rooks and Daniel "Weasel" (Salli) Rooks, all of Edinburgh; daughters, Brenda (David) Maraman of Sarasota, FL, Bobbie Toler of Nineveh and Stacy (Marty Burton) Toler of Edinburgh; brothers, Ralph Grider of Columbus, and Bill (Beverly) Grider of Westport; sisters, Verna (Wayne) Webb of Hope and Jan (Herbert) Bennett of Edinburgh; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers and two sisters.
