Robert W. "Bob" Roupp M-F-45-1

Robert W. "Bob" Roupp, 91, died Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, in Autumn Ages Care Home in Fountaintown. He was a former resident of Edinburgh. He was born April 26, 1920, to the late B. Frank and Delphia Mae (Stillabower) Roupp. He married Margaret L. King on May 18, 1947; she survives. Other survivors include his children, Donald W. Roupp of Columbus, M. Jayne (David) Bray of Greencastle and M. Ruth (Bob) Belles of Shelbyville; sister, Dorothy Hill of Edinburgh; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ransom Roupp. He was a 1938 graduate of Columbus High School. He attended Iowa State College. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945. He was a member of the Edinburgh Masonic Lodge 100, FFA state secretary in 1934 and was a member of the Sagamore of the Wabash. He was a former farmer in Bartholomew and Johnson counties and retired from Cummins' research department after 34 years of service. He enjoyed socializing. The Rev. Wally Jeffs will conduct a funeral service at noon Tuesday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, 302 E. Main Cross St., Edinburgh. Calling will be from 10:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
