David F. Shepherd Jr. M-B-81-6

David F. Shepherd Jr., 54, of Columbus, left this earth on July 26, 2011; he passed away peacefully at his home. David was born December 30, 1956, in Franklin, IN, the first son of David F. Shepherd Sr. and LaRetta Mae (Dennis) Waltz Hoard. He was a graduate of Columbus East High School and held a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from Indiana University. He was employed at PMG as a machine operator. He enjoyed collecting rock music and going to concerts. Science fiction movies and on-line poker took up much of his leisure time, but most important was spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his parents, of Columbus; step mother, Patricia Shepherd of Columbus; brothers, Michael (Laura) Shepherd of Columbus and Steven (Dawn) Shepherd of Hope; sisters, Teresa (Randy) Reeves of Columbus and Nicole (Trevor) Wylie of Twenty Nine Palms, CA; nephews, Joshua Lowry, Daniel Reeves and Christopher Shepherd, all of Columbus, Ryan Shepherd of Indianapolis and Matthew Shepherd of Hope; nieces, Angela (Andrew) Supernovich, Wendi Shepherd and Kimberly Reeves, all of Columbus; four great-nieces; stepbrothers, Ralph and Paul Hoard of Columbus, Steve Hoard of Kentucky and Mitch Hoard of Key West, FL; and a stepsister, Nancy (Wesley) Eastwood of Columbus. May he rest content. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street with Dr. William H. Griffith officiating.
