Agnes L. Snyder M-A-53-4

Agnes L. Snyder, 99, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2011, at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville, SC., after a brief illness. She was born September 24, 1912, in a three-room log cabin in Bartholomew County, IN, to the late Francis and Anna (Bisel) Dinn. She married the late Charles Uriah Snyder November 30, 1932. They had nine children. She is survived by sons, William, Morris, Patrick and Gayle Snyder; and daughters, Eloise Luttrell and Karen Casey. She is also survived by twin sisters, Norine Majcher & Josephine Grimes, 29 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Snyder; daughters, Luritha "Tiny" Thompson and Esther Snyder; brothers, John H. & Leo Dinn; and sisters, Mary Swift, Elizabeth Henderson & Rosanna Frost. She attended Nineveh schools, graduating in 1932. She rode to school with her brother Leo on a horse. She was on the girls basketball team. She retired from Hooks Drug Store in Edinburgh in 1977 at the age of 65. She belonged to the Edinburgh Senior Citizens for many years. Her hobbies were crocheting and making latch hook rugs. She also loved gardening and caring for her flowers. She moved to her daughter Karen's home in Greenville, SC. in May of this year and lived there until her death. She will be sadly missed by all. A funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Gobel Brockman at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, 302 E. Main Cross St., Edinburgh, IN, at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2011. Calling will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday until time of service. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery, Edinburgh, IN.
