Robert M. Snyder B-J-145-7

Robert M. Snyder, 85, of West Lowell Road, died at 9:55 a.m. Monday, May 9, 2011, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Robert retired from Dunlap & Company in 1987 after 46 years of service. He loved his dogs and had a kennel where he raised many dogs over the years including, Bassett Hounds, Beagles and Bird Dogs. He also was active in field trials and showing his dogs. Robert served in the United States Navy from February 7, 1944, to June 3, 1946. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2011, at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, with Steve Brown officiating. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date. Memorials may be made to Bartholomew County Humane Society, P.O. Box 1988, Columbus, IN 47202, or Hospice of South Central Indiana, 2626 E. 17th Street, Columbus, IN 47201.
Robert was born in Columbus November 21, 1925, the son of the late A.O. and Elva Brown Snyder. He married Wilma J. Plummer March 11, 1949. He is survived by his wife of 62 years and a son, David Snyder of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his parents.
