Aeretta "Rita" Stine, 92, died Saturday, March 5, 2011, at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove. She was a resident of Franklin and a former resident of Edinburgh. She was born Sept. 20, 1918, in Brown County, to the late William O. and Monzell (Kirts) Bright. She married Robert E. "Bud" Stine on March 12, 1947. He preceded her in death Dec. 10, 2006. Survivors include a sister, Sara Frances Gommel of Taylorsville; and several nieces and nephews, Steven (Esther) Bright of Hanover, Alan Ray (Cindy) Gommel of Columbus, William and Robert Bright of Florida, Dean Eberhart of Shelbyville, Diana (Allan) Hunter of Clifford, Kathy Bright of Nashville, Mary Rita Casella of Florida and Richard Cisco, Charlotte (Keith) Anderson and Sharon (John) Parish, all of Franklin. She was preceded in death by three brothers, James O., Gene and Mark Bright. She was a graduate of Franklin High School. She was a member of Ediburgh United Methodist Church and Franklin Order of the Eastern Star No. 439. She was past deputy in District 6 for Order of the Eastern Star, past grand warder for Indiana Grand Chapter and past president of the Edinburgh American Legion Auxiliary. She was a homemaker who helped her husband at Stine Grocery in Edinburgh and was a deputy assessor during her husband's terms as Blue River Township assessor. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, 302 E. Main Cross St., Edinburgh. Calling will be from 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Memorial contributions may be made to Indiana Masonic Home, 690 S.
