Marilyn L. (Gooch) Armstrong, 81, passed away on Tuesday, October 21st, 2014 in Franklin. She was a resident of Nineveh, Indiana. She was born on November 4, 1932 in Indianapolis to the late David E. and Ruth E. (Durham) Light. Marilyn is survived by children, Michael D. (Chris Miller) Armstrong of Nineveh; Timothy R. (Lisa) Armstrong of Nineveh and Laura Beth (Randy) Rust of Greenwood; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two nieces. She was also preceded in passing by son, Jeffrey Alan Armstrong; and sister, Lois Whitehead. Marilyn was a graduate of Southport High School and the University of Indianapolis She worked over the years as a Piano Teacher; a secretary for attorney offices and was employed by the United States Postal Service. She was the owner/broker of Salt Creek Realty in Nineveh for many years prior to retirement in 2010. A celebration of Marilyn’s life will be held on Monday evening, October 27th, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call on Monday, October 27th from 4:00 p.m. to time of service at the funeral home. A graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, October 28th, 2014 at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Franklin United Methodist Community, 1070 W. Jefferson Street, Franklin, Indiana 46131. The family extends sincere thanks to the staff at Franklin United Methodist Community and the Gentiva Hospice for their care and compassion for Mom to the very end.
