Gracie S. (Dillard) Elliott, 74, passed away Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Edinburgh.Gracie was born Jan. 24, 1936, in Lafayette to the late Paul and Mollie (Lancaster) Dillard. She married her loving husband of 57 years, Elmer C. Elliott, on April 25, 1953, in Columbus. He survives in Edinburgh. Gracie was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She also was very involved in the Assembly of God Church in Edinburgh, which she attended for more than 60 years. She was always donating to the church's nursery, and all the church children loved her. She enjoyed playing Yahtzee, making jewelry and cooking for her family. She also was an avid reader of her Bible and enjoyed listening to Christian music. Gracie also is survived by three sons, Elmer (wife Darla) Elliott Jr. of Portland,Ore., Ronnie Joe (wife Sue) Elliott of Seattle and Bruce Allen (wife Cathy) Elliott of Edinburgh; one brother, Delmar (Norma) Dillard of Brown County; two sisters, Myrtle (husband Keith) Love of Peoga and Iola K. Andrews of Morgantown; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by one sister, Lizzie Balman; and one brother, James Dillard. The Rev. Matthew Eckart will conduct a funeral service at 10 a.m. Friday at Assembly Of God Church, 904 S. Holland St., Edinburgh. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church.
