Thomas Fields, Jr., 77 of Columbus, IN. entered eternal life Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at his home. Mr. Fields was born in Edmonton, KY. on June 11, 1938 the son of the late Roy Thomas and Mamie Jessie Fields. He married the love of his life, Peggy A. Edwards in Edmonton, KY. on June 09, 1958 and she survives. Mr. Fields worked for Golden Foundry for 42 years where he was an inspector and welder. He enjoyed attending Messiah Baptist Church in Columbus, IN. Mr. Fields loved watching his grandson race, playing the guitar, listening to music and fishing. He was a member of the Glass Molders, Pottery, Plastics and Allied Workers International Union. The funeral service celebrating the life of Mr. Fields will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday, July 31, 2015 at Messiah Baptist Church at 195 S. 300 E. with Pastor Michael Whited officiating. Calling hours will be at the church from 4:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday and from noon until the time of the service on Friday. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to Messiah Baptist Church. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Myers-Reed Chapel. Along with his wife of 57 years, Mr. Fields is also survived by a daughter, VaNessa Graham and a son, Tony (Crystal) Fields both of Columbus, IN.; four sisters, Mildred Burris of Columbus, IN., Louise Riley of Austin, IN., Tilda Froedge of Edmonton, KY. and Ernestine Bryant of Hope, IN.; four grandchildren, Kip and Derek Graham and Jacob and Alesha Fields and seven great grandchildren, Gage, Kegan, Jason, Blake, Nikolie, Ariana and Emory. Mr. Fields was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother and sister and two sisters, Mary Lou Hamilton and Alice Coomer. www.myers-reed.com
