Kenneth Boyd Gwin, 76, Edinburgh, IN. passed away Tuesday September 1, 2015 at his residence. He was born July 22, 1939 in Waverly, TN. To James and Jane (Lewis) Gwin. He is survived by daughters Patty Gwin, Edinburgh, IN. and Sandra Unger of Arizona; sons Richard Cook, Franklin, IN., Michael Gwin, Arizona and Kenneth Gwin of Arizona; brothers Robert Gwin, Columbus, IN., Alvin Gwin, Tucson, AZ. & Preston Gwin, Waverly, TN.; sisters Frances Bramlett, Waverly, TN.; Edith Burlock, Toland, IN.; (9) grandchildren and (1) great granddaughter. He was preceded by his parents and sons Michael A. Gwin and Joseph Lee Gwin; Brother Roy Gwin and Sisters Joyce Gwin and Lucille Cooley. He was a US Army veteran. He was a member of the Edinburgh United Methodist Church; Edinburgh American Legion Post #233; Moose Lodge #398, Columbus and Columbus Eagles Lodge #741. He retired from the Edinburgh Police Dept., after 26 years, serving eight years as Chief of Police. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and going to their sporting events, and going to the Moose and Legion to visit with friends. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday September 4, 2015 at Edinburgh United Methodist Church, 107 W. Campbell St. with Rev. Sean Johnson and Rev. Lewis Burton officiating. Calling will be 4 – 8 p.m. Thursday Sept. 3 at the church. Friday calling at church from noon until time of service. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery, Edinburgh, IN.
