Billy Ray Dampier M-A-8-1

  Billy Ray Dampier, 65, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2019. He was born in Lake Placid, FL on July 30, 1954.  He was the son of Robert L. Dampier and Flossie (Ogla) Dampier.  Billy is survived by his daughters, Brenda Cherry of Columbus; Evelyn “EJ” Yank (Rodney Tanner) of Bastrol, CA; Lisa Craig (James Bowen) of Waldron; Billie Bowen (Jason) of Greenfield; son, Darin Dampier (Amy Goode) of Waldron; and daughter, Debra Faye Dampier of Columbus; the love of his life, Sandra VanDehauer; 15 grandchildren, 1 Great-grandchild, sister, Kim Christy, and brothers, Bart Dampier and Calvin Dampier. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert Wayne Dampier and sister, Faye Julian. Billy was a member of the Indiana National Guard from March 5, 1980 to April 1, 2000. He enjoyed fishing and watching NASCAR.  His most precious times were spent with his family and friends. Visitation will be from 10 am to Noon, Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.  Funeral services will follow at Noon at the funeral home with Reverend Brandon Sutton officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Edinburgh, with military rites conducted by veteran organizations.  Funeral Directors, Greg Parks, Sheila Parks, and Stuart Parks are honored to serve the Dampier family.
