Jane Sharon (Burris) Stilley passed away April 23, 2020 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis, IN. She was born on May 11, 1945 in Oxford England to James Burris and Nancy (Woodcock) Burris. Nancy was a war bride and Jane and Nancy came to America on Queen Mary through Ellis Island at the end of WW II.

She graduated from Greenwood Community High School in 1963.

Jane met the love of her life, Al, in high school at an Eastern Star picnic and was married on August 23, 1966. She was a member of Greenwood United Methodist Church for more than six decades where she was a member of the United Methodist Women and served on numerous committees in the church including wedding coordinator and cooked meals weekly for the Shepard’s Table which she was the co-founder.

Jane was a homemaker and ran a home daycare, Girl Scout leader, Sunday school teacher and church youth leader for numerous years. She has influenced the lives of numerous children.

She is survived by her husband Allen Webb Stilley of Greenwood, IN, her three children Darla Stevens and husband Kenneth of Lincolnton, North Carolina, Shannon Denney and husband Todd of Indianapolis, IN and Gregory Stilley and wife Tracey of Greenwood, IN, twelve grandchildren: Kenneth Stevens of Los Angeles, CA, Katherine Stevens of Lincolnton, North Carolina, Joshua Denney, Maximus Denney, Patrick Denney, Jack Denney, Sophia Denney, Andrew Denney, and Nolan Denney all of Indianapolis, IN and Olivia Stilley, Alyssa Stilley, and Harrison Stilley all of Greenwood, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Nancy (Woodcock) Burris and a brother William Burris.

Jane’s Family is appreciative of thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. Pastor In Suk Peebles will conduct a celebration of life service at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Greenwood United Methodist Church, 525 North Madison Avenue Greenwood, IN and where the family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. till service time at the church. A private family inurnment will take place at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, IN. In lieu of flowers contributions to Greenwood United Methodist Church 525 North Madison Avenue Greenwood, IN 46142 are appreciated.
