Charles L. McTarsney Sr.

Charles L. McTarsney, Sr. 90, of Columbus passed from this life on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin.

Mr. McTarsney was born on November 8, 1929 in Johnson County, Indiana the son of Oliver and Charlene B. Ford McTarsney. On July 3, 1953 he married Delores Butler.

He proudly served in the United States Army and retired from Cummins Engine Company after 44 years of service.

Mr. McTarsney enjoyed his hobbies of fishing and collecting stamps, coins and knives. He loved family reunions, read his Bible daily and loved his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Delores McTarsney of Columbus; children, Charles McTarsney Jr. of Columbus, Vickie (Rob) Thayer of Columbus, Jill (Don) Novak of Columbus; grandchildren, Jodi Hacker of Columbus, Jordan (Rachel) Thayer of Carmel, Katelyn Novak of Columbus, Megan Novak of Columbus; three great grandchildren; brothers, Max (Carol) McTarsney of Franklin and Ron (Mary Jean) McTarsney of Franklin; sister, June Biggerstaff, Cathy (Roger) Warner; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Timmy McTarsney; sisters, Darlene McTarsney, Clarice McTarsney, Doris Marie McTarsney, Delores Julian, Delphia Mitchell; and brothers, Russell McTarsney and Oliver Lynn McTarsney.

Family and friends may call for visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick

Funeral Home on Washington Street.

We do ask that visitors follow the social distancing guidelines once inside the funeral home and masks are required.

Graveside services will be held at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday with Pastor Jerry Day, Sr. officiating and military honors presented by the Bartholomew County Honor Guard.
