Willis E. Dayton

COWETA, OKLAHOMAWillis E. Dayton, 81 of Coweta, Oklahoma passed away September 26, 2020 at Branson, Missouri. He was born June 12, 1939 in Olean, New York. He was the son of Herbert E. and Virginia P. (Staley) Dayton. He married Linda (Burton) Dayton on April 30, 1961 and she survives. He is also survived by his sons, Dennis E. (Paula) Dayton of Edinburgh, Indiana, Bruce E. (Cindy) Dayton of Coweta, Oklahoma, and Bradley H. Dayton of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, daughter, Dana E. (Bryan) McGuire of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, fifteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and sisters, Marty (Charles) West of Coweta, Oklahoma, Dottie (Boogie) Stevenson of Lecanto, Florida, and Lynne (David) Vernon of Tulsa, Oklahoma.He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, and sister, Marilyn Carlson.Willis served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Okinawa. He was a member of the Broken Arrow Nazarene Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and was an adult Sunday school teacher for many years. He was a high school Social Studies teacher for fourteen years in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He retired in 2003 after twenty-two years of being a letter carrier in Tulsa, Oklahoma.He enjoyed playing Blue Grass music, on the mandolin, with church members, walking his dog, Allie, gardening, and camping in Branson, Missouri.Calling will be from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church in Edinburgh, Indiana. A Graveside Service will be conducted by Anthony “Bill” Burton at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh immediately following calling.Arrangements made by Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh, Indiana.
