Larry V. Whitlock, 82 of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away March 30, 2022 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis. He was born May 9, 1939 in Connersville, Indiana. He was the son of Vernon and Gladys (Miller) Whitlock. He married Kay (Greenberg) Whitlock on January 27, 1962 and she preceded him in death on April 28, 2012.

He is survived by his sons, Dean (Barb) Whitlock of Grand Forks, North Dakota and Dane (Jolinda) Whitlock of Columbus, Indiana, daughters, Tracy (Rick) Swift of Indianapolis, Indiana and Kimberly (Mike) Criss of New Palestine, Indiana, grandchildren, Christopher Swift, Matthew Whitlock, Adam Swift, Audrey Dean, Daniel Seiltz, Emily Reichet, Marcus Swift, Jarod Criss, and Ben Seiltz, and 6 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sister, Patricia McCarty.

Larry was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Edinburgh, the American Legion Post 233 in Edinburgh, and the Moose Lodge in Columbus. He served in the US Air Force, was a Blue River Township Trustee for 20 plus years, was on the Edinburgh Town Board for 8 years, and was a Precinct Committeeman for several years. He was inducted into the Johnson County Republican Hall Of Fame and was a flight instructor for single engine planes. He retired from Indiana Bell in 1996 after 30 years of service.

He was an avid reader and enjoyed fishing, boating, and camping.

A funeral service will be conducted by Father Chris Wadelton at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Edinburgh. Calling will be from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 5 at the Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh, Indiana. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
