Maxine "Essie" Workman M-C-59-4

Maxine S. “Essie” Workman, 93 of Franklin, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 15, 1929, in Liberty, Kentucky to John and Ova (Chapman) Spaw.  Essie was married to Richard Ford who preceded her in passing.  She later married Wayne Workman who also preceded her in passing.  Essie is survived by children, Tamera Coolman (Bob); Richard “Bruce” Ford (Julie); Beverly “Kay” Fowler (Clyde) and Alex Ford (Dory); twelve grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by one sister, Betty Jo Weddle.  She was preceded in passing by her parents; husbands, Richard and Wayne; and siblings, Frances Kinnick, Louise Cox, Esther Purdy, Ray Spaw, George Spaw, Vernon Spaw, Clifford Spaw, Regina Dukate and two infant siblings, Rita and David.  Essie graduated from high school in Liberty, Casey County, Kentucky. She was employed by Western Electric, working on the Assembly Line, retiring after many years of dedicated service. She was one of the founders of Franklin Memorial Christian Church, (Victory Christian Church) in Franklin.  Essie enjoyed nature and bird watching.  She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. Visitation will be Friday, February 17, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, Indiana.
