Samuel D. “Sam” Bensheimer B-O-29-3

Samuel D. “Sam” Bensheimer, 57 of Franklin, Indiana passed away February 16, 2019 at Greenwood Health and Living Community in Greenwood, Indiana. He passed away after battling Parkinson’s Decease for many years, which he referred to “as a challenge.” He was born December 6, 1961 in Beech Grove, Indiana. He was the son of Kenneth D. Bensheimer and Dorothy Ann (Joyce) Bensheimer Roberts. He is survived by his mother of Franklin, Indiana, brother, David M. (Lisa) Bensheimer of Franklin, Indiana, half-brother, Chris Roberts of Indianapolis, Indiana, nephew, Michael Bensheimer, and nieces, McKayla Bensheimer, Alexandra Bensheimer, and Kassidy Roberts. He was preceded in death by his father. Sam was a member of the former Edinburgh Christian Church. Before graduating from Columbus North High School in Columbus, Indiana, he was a member of the Trappers Club, Debate Club, Caving Club, and Chess Club. He enjoyed playing on church league basketball teams, hunting, and fishing. He was an outdoorsman. A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 22, 2019 by Pastor Jim Clayton at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh, Indiana. Calling will be from 4:00 until time of service at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
