Phyllis M. Johnson M-G-98-4

On Monday, April 1, 2019 at 10:52 a.m., Phyllis M. Johnson, adored wife and mother of two daughters, passed from this life at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. She was 81. Phyllis was born on June 21, 1937 in Edinburgh, Indiana. She was the daughter of Joseph K. “Joe” and Florence E. Burton. She married Robert J. “Bob” Johnson on November 26, 1960 at Mc Coy AFB in Orlando, Florida. Together they owned and operated Lynn-Ann Fashions in Edinburgh and Columbus for many years. Throughout her life she was an avid bowler and competed in many competitions across the country with WIBC. These competitions allowed her to travel with her sisters and make amazing memories. She was also a former member of the Royal Neighbors of America where she made some wonderful friends. Phyllis loved to laugh, spend time with her family, and play card games. It wasn’t uncommon to find a large group around her table on any given week-end to do these very things with her. Her contagious laugh will be remember by all those who knew her. In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Elizabeth Johnson of Edinburgh and Robin (Rockie) Krebbs of Greenwood, grandchildren, Mindy Bartlett of Los Angles, California, Ballard Bartlett of Greenwood, and Glorianna Bartlett of Columbus, two great-grandsons, brothers, Charles (Ilene) Burton of Whiteland, William (Bonnie) Burton of Huntsville, Alabama, Larry (Joyce) Burton of Edinburgh, and sister, Linda (Bill) Dayton of Coweta, Oklahoma. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Dwight and Edgar Burton, and sister, Nadine Adams. Services will be held at Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church where Phyllis attended. Calling hours will be from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2019. The funeral will be conducted by Reverends Glenn Pointer and Randy Denton at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 6. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation through the funeral home.
